A Multiplicity of Interstices
Copyright: Markus Scherer
What emerges in the intervals between media, music, performance, spatial installation, video and drawing? SUBJEKT/OBJEKT dismantles and reassembles. A drama takes shape on stage—live, aesthetic, new and interdisciplinary.
Unambiguous is boring. It presents us with nothing to discover, nothing to suppose or suspect, and absolutely no fascinating fissures or gaps. So, why not arrange things differently for a change and see what effects result. In a concert setting, for instance. This could well have been what was going through composer Christoph Herndler’s mind when he and his “partner in crime” Markus Scherer conceived this mise-en-scène for a concert space. Twelve instrumental soloists and three solo vocalists are joined by graphic artists and performers to present a Gesamtkunstwerk.Artistry in the form of music, video, lighting, graphics and live performance merge to engender an innovative, holistic creation. A thrilling journey of discovery in a concert spatial installation.
