Fashion photography from a different angle: Elfie Semotan’s “Standing Waiting” in Casino Linz includes images of 24 sales assistants in Linz shops exhibited in life-size illuminated display cases.

A pre-premiere reception on April 26 hosted by Linz09, the Crossing Europe Film Festival and the OK Center for Contemporary Art showcased this work being installed in conjunction with “Schaurausch.” The event was also a celebration of the link-up of the Capital of Culture initiative and the film festival, which, as Martin Heller emphasized, will also be one of the defining features of the 2009 festivities.

Numerous international journalists specializing in film and cultural affairs as well as many of the guests of the Crossing Europe Film Festival attended this event. They were greeted by Martin Heller, OK’s Martin Sturm and Christine Dollhofer, director of the film festival.
