Academy of the Impossible – The Inner Rhythm
Linz is transformed into a city of workshops until the end of August. The “Academy of the Impossible” opens up avenues to hands-on experiences in such fields as dance, the stage, singing, physical training techniques, music, etc. – either in the form of day courses or as workshops lasting several days.
“do it all” and “mix & match” are the two formats in which workshops are available: the former is ideal for those looking for in-depth workshops lasting several days; the latter offers you the chance for a first encounter with a topic or an art form lasting one day.Among the theatre workshops we would like especially to point out the so-called biographical theatre. In his workshop “Der Familientisch”, theatre maker David Maayan, who is also the Academy’s Artistic Director, uses elements from the participants’ personal biographies and fuses them with fictional components. What is so deeply rewarding about this exercise in dramatic representation is the fact that it enables everyone to express or embrace their own lifestory and to reflect on it and work it through. A similar approach is proposed by Angelika Kisser-Maayan and Walter Mathes in their workshop “My story on stage”. So, what’s keeping you? Present yourself on stage!
