The Capital of Culture Demonstrates Its Commitment to Kids’ Rights!

When something’s important, it’s worth taking a public stand! That’s just what the Kidsparade is doing—coming out loud and proud on behalf of young people’s rights. This is a demonstration for our future.
The first Kidsparade was organized in 2000 by the Festival for Children’s Rights association and the Kinderfreunde child welfare organization. Since then, thousands of kids have been taking part in an annual demonstration of how important it is to get actively involved worldwide on behalf of children’s rights and in the fight against mistreatment, sexual abuse, homelessness and prostitution. On June 20, 2009, you can show your colours too!Kidsparade
June 20, 2009, beginning at 2 PM with a Warm-Up and Kinderfest
The demonstration starts at 4 PM at Volksgarten; the route is via Landstraße to Hauptplatz, where the parade culminates in a festive celebration. The programme of events will include pantomime, banner painting, drumming, a kids’ circus and lots more!
