Conny SCHEUER (AT)
Cornelia SCHEUER (AT) was born in 1969 in Vienna. As a paraplegic since infancy, she uses a wheelchair. She got started as a performer and actress in the indie scene in 1993. She was one of the founders of the performance group Bilderwerfer and a member of its ensemble until 2000. She has performed site-specific improvisations and choreographed pieces in Seattle, New York, Helsinki and Bozen, Italy. Alito Allessi, Vera Mantero and Andrew Harwood are some of the choreographers from whom she has received her training. In 2003, she produced Erwin Riess’ monologue “Der Zorn der Eleonore Batthyány.” From 2005 to 2007, she was an ensemble member of the production “Der Familientisch” at Schauspielhaus Vienna. In 2008, she contributed a performance to “The Mystery of the Enchanted Cars,” a work by toxic dreams presented at Donaufestival Krems. She has been chairperson of Theater ohne Boden since 2006, and directed and choreographed this association’s production of “Mit gepackten Koffern”. She is currently preparing a performance entitled "Wenn ich träume, fangen Räder Feuer" for Linz 2009 European Capital of Culture.
