Barbara MUSIL (AT)
Barbara Musil (AT) was born in 1972 in Salzburg. 1992-98, she studied medicine in Graz, and then experimental design at the Linz Art University with Prof. Herbert Lachmayer and Prof. Andrea Van der Straeten. From 2000 to 2008, she spent several residencies abroad in Berlin, Cluj, Vilnius, Tallinn and Tenno. As a media artist, she has shown her work both at exhibitions as well as film festivals. In 2008, her video “market sentiments” was featured at festivals in Saarbrücken, Vienna, Sao Paulo, New York, Belgrade and Oberhausen, and won the Crossing Europe Local Artists Award in Linz.
She has taken part in numerous group exhibitions at such venues as OK Center for Contemporary Art (Linz), KunstRaum Goethestraße (Linz), Galerie 5020 (Salzburg), Secession (Vienna), steirischer herbst (Graz), Centro per l'Arte contem'poranea Luigi Pecci (Italy), Semperdepot (Vienna), Kunsthalle Exnergasse (Vienna), Casino Luxembourg (Luxemburg) and Sammlung Essl (Klosterneuburg). Her work has been featured at solo exhibitions at the Estonian Academy of Arts, MediaLab Tallinn and PlanB Gallery in Cluj (Rumania). Barbara Musil lives in Vienna.
