Valerie Klein (AT)
Valerie Klein received her training as a dancer and musician at the Mozarteum in Salzburg (music and dance education), at SEAD Salzburg and at the Iwanson School for Contemporary Dance in Munich. Following her graduation in Salzburg, she successfully completed a masters program in choreography at the University of Birmingham in 2001.
Since 2001, she has lived and worked in Vienna and Upper Austria as a choreographer, dancer and dance pedagogue (including work at Theater an der
Wien, Volksoper Wien, WUK, Kosmos Theater, CCL). Her productions have been featured at Tanzpool Wien, Dschungel
Wien and at numerous festivals (including Tanz 06, Passauer Tanztage, Shäxpir, Midlands Arts Centre, and Allardyce Theatre Birmingham).
Valerie Klein has offered workshops for young people, adults and children (including Verein Ad Libitum, Tanzleiterakademie NÖ, Berufsverband der Tanzpädagogen, Landesmusikschulwerk Oö, Swinging Team) in Austria and abroad, and headed dance and art projects at schools (including Kulturkontakt Austria, Austrian Master Classes). Since 2007, she has been involved in community dance in cooperation with Caritas Vienna and Kulturkontakt Austria ('Quertanzen' 2008 in Gasometer).
In 2004, she received a Danceweb grant for contemporary dance at Impuls Tanz Vienna.
In January 2008, Valerie Klein began her training as a yoga teacher in Graz. She is currently a member of the ensemble of @tendance/Christina Medina dance company (Winnipeg/Graz) and also dances at Vienna’s Volksoper in Puccini's “Turandot” and Krenek's “Kehraus um St. Stephan.”
