Dejan SRHOJ (SLO)

Born in 1978, Dejan Srhoj graduated from ballet school in Ljubljana and the Ballet Academy in Munich. He became a soloist at the Slovenian National Ballet in 1999 and has danced principal roles. In 2000, he co-founded dance theatre group Fico Balet and has been performing and choreographing within the group since then. Since 2001 he has worked as a freelance performer, and has been involved in many productions in the field of contemporary dance and theatre in Slovenia and abroad—MASKA, Mladinsko Thetre Ljubljana, Betontanc, Goran Bogdanovski, Silvan Omerzu, Francois-Michel Pesenti, Howard Katz Fireheart, Magdalena Reiter. Over the past four years he has also created his own work including solos, duets and group pieces for non-professionals. He has continuously been teaching ballet and creative workshops. He is currently involved in a Nomad Dance Academy workshop-based dance educational system in the Balkans. In 2008 he graduated from the Open University, London with a BA in Humanities.
