Philipp KROLL (AT)
Philipp Kroll was born in 1973 in Linz. He studied social sciences and economics at Johannes Kepler University in Linz, graduating in 2002. In 1993, he founded the hip-hop group Texta in which he is rapper and music/beat producer. He’s on the staff and board of directors of Kapu, a cultural center and event venue. Since 2002, Philipp Kroll has been a freelance journalist for the hip-hop magazine “The Message.” In 2007, he was appointed lecturer in audio design in the field of time-based and interactive media at Linz Art University. His travels have taken him to Kingston, Jamaica and Dakar, Senegal. In Jamaica, he worked as cameraman on the documentary film “Queens of Sound” directed by Sandra Krampelhuber. In conjunction with Linz Export, he went to Senegal as cameraman on a documentary film about rap and reggae.
