Claudia SEIGMANN (AT)
was born in 1968 in Salzburg. She lives in Linz and works in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. She received her training in dance and movement in Salzburg, and studied acting at the Anton Bruckner Private University Linz, from which she graduated in 1997. Since the late 1980s, she has been creating plays and performances as a free-lance actress, director and producer. In 1998, she began conceiving and staging interdisciplinary, site-specific theater projects in Vienna, Salzburg and Linz. In 2000, she founded theaternyx. In 2004-06, she created the dramaturgy and the stage direction for the “Trilogie der exzessiven Frauen.” Since 2002, she has been an instructor at summer academies in Austria and Germany—in 2007, at Sommerakademie Mozarteum Salzburg and at Stadttheater Neuburg (D). Since 2003, she has directed contemporary art projects and social sculptures that bring together immigrants, young people and artists, and confront current issues having to do with migration and feminism. Claudia Seigmann has a daughter.
