David MAAYAN (IL/AT)
was born in Acco, Israel, and studied directing and acting in Tel Aviv. He is the founder and artistic director of the Acco Theatre Center. His works “Kohelet,” “Arbeit macht frei” and “Der Familientisch” made a name for him worldwide and caused an uproar at numerous festivals. In 2000, Maayan founded the Shlomi Center for Work and Creation. Since 2001, David Maayan has taught at the School for the Creating Artist at the Shlomi Center and has received teaching assignments from the Universities of Tel Aviv and Haifa. David Maayan was commissioned by Linz09 to conceive and direct a production of “Purimspil.” He is also the director of Linz09’s Academy of the Impossible.
