Anna-Maria KRASSNIGG (AT)
Anna Maria Krassnigg was born in 1970 in Vienna, and spent her childhood in Syrakus, Sicily and Vienna. She completed her studies in acting and directing at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. She has to her credit many texts and productions that have been staged at theaters in cities and provinces throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland and by indie scene groups. With her international theater ensemble, she spent four years producing independent projects in Zurich, where she worked together with Theaterhaus Gessnerallee and was involved in the Theaterspektakel Zürich.
During the 2004-05 season, she staged “Fräulein Else” based on Arthur Schnitzler’s text at Theater an der Josefstadt in Vienna. The first production of one of her own works, “Full Stuff,” was in 2006 in conjunction with the Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen. In 2007, she founded salon5 at Vienna’s Brick 5 complex, an innovative art and communications project that is carrying on the tradition of the “public living room” (il salone). Anna Maria Krassnigg has been visiting professor of acting and directing at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna since 1998.
