Nurkan ERPULAT (TR/DE)
Nurkan Erpulat was born in 1974 in Ankara. In 1998, he studied acting in the Fine Arts Department of Dokuz Eylül University in Izmir and at the UdK–University of the Arts Berlin, and went on to become the first person of Turkish descent to graduate from the Directing Program at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts. His directorial work has included “Deplazierte Familie” (based on texts by Pierre Bourdieu) at the Maxim Gorki Theater and “K(l)eine Morgenstern-Szene” at the Berlin Comic Opera. In conjunction with the beyond belonging Festival, he staged “Faked” in 2007 and “Jenseits” in 2008 at the Hebbel Theater am Ufer. Nurkan Erpulat has also worked since 2000 as a programming executive at RBB Radio Multikulti. He has been an instructor at the UdK since 2007.
