Willi DORNER (AT)
Willi Dorner is a dancer, choreographer and Alexander Technique teacher. He and his productions have appeared at top-name international festivals such as the ImPulsTanz Festival in Vienna and on stage in Austria and abroad. He was born in 1959 in Baden and studied dance pedagogy at the Conservatory of the City of Vienna. He subsequently completed training in movement-analytical dance pedagogy and commenced practical studies in behavioral therapy at the University of Vienna. He also attended the Erick Hawkins School for Dance in New York and the School for Body-Mind Centering, studying developmental movement (under Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen), contact improvisation (under A. Harwood, D. Lepkoff and N. Stark-Smith) and release technique (under Irene Hultman and Stephen Petronio). He began his choreographic activities in 1991. He has been honored with the Eurodans Prize (1998), the Tendances Award (1999), the Austrian Dance Production Award (2000) and the Pearls07 in 2007.
