Art from Africa and Europe // UNESCO Workshop
This intercultural art education project offers students and teachers from Europe and Africa the opportunity to encounter contemporary African and European art. In September 2009, previously selected participants from Europe and Africa will meet in Linz. At special workshops, they’ll deal with examples of contemporary art produced in conjunction with Linz09. In May 2010 in Senegal, participants will attend workshops focusing on the offerings at the art biennale in Dakar.
The project’s mission is to investigate the relevance of contemporary art for general education and for the objectives of UNESCO’s “ROAD MAP for Cultural Education.”
Participants can look forward to receiving fascinating impressions into both theory and practice, encountering a highly diverse array of themes, techniques and methods, as well as learning effective ways to deal with curators, artists and art institutions.
