Contemporary music thrives on interaction among composers and musicians. Students from Linz and Vilnius came together for a shared encounter with traditional and modern chamber music.

The collaboration among musicians from 2009’s two Capitals of Culture was a long-term process that proceeded on several levels. The Anton Bruckner Private University and the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Dramatic Art worked together in a variety of ways—personal cooperation, artistic collaboration and jointly pursued ventures—in an effort to develop mutual understanding and shared approaches to creative expression. The fruits of their labors were presented in a series of events. “Classic meets Rhythm meets New Music” and “Watermusic” were performed in Vilnius and Linz, where they attested to the success of these undertakings.
