Willi Dorner takes dance to the streets in a new multi-disciplinary collaboration with the designer Katharina Heistinger and composer Bernhard Lang. Dorner’s fascination with the power of dancers’ bodies as sculpture has already been evident in works such as the outdoor performance BODIES IN URBAN SPACES, where dance opened up new ways of looking at architecture. ABOVE UNDER INBETWEEN extends this interest to the sphere of everyday living, in a sculptural dialogue between dancers’ bodies and items of furniture. Familiar objects are used in unfamiliar ways in a public space to offer new perspectives on how people move and how we treat our bodies in the course of our everyday lives.
