Alone. After considerable success as a journalist for „Die Zeit“ and 10 years working as Pina Bausch‘s dramaturg, Raimund Hoghe made his stage debut at the age of 45. He is now regarded as one of the most original minds working in European theatre today and was recently voted Dancer of the Year 2008 by the critics of „ballet-tanz“ magazine. 36, AVENUE GEORGES MANDEL is the latest in his series of largely solo performances, an encounter with the legacy of a famously elusive and mercurial artist. It is a deeply personal work about the nature of beauty and the bravery required to be a great artist.
