The European premiere of a new play by leading Palestinian-American playwright Betty Shamieh. Set in the Crusades, TERRITORIES tells the story of the sharp-tongued sister of Islamic ruler Saladin. A French knight captures her on the road to Mecca. She, however, manages brilliantly to keep both men at a distance and maintain her independence in this ruthless game of power and love. Shamieh‘s thrilling investigation into the root causes of religious conflicts and gender politics is a cooperation with the Landestheater Linz and will be both directed and translated by Gerhard Willert.
