Culture in Donaupark: Relaxation among friends in an alfresco setting amidst downtown greenery.

For almost 20 years now, LINZFEST at Whitsun has been showcasing a multifaceted lineup of regional and international music, literature, cabaret and exhibitions. What’s unique about this festival is the atmosphere of its venue, the Donaupark immediately adjacent to the Lentos Art Museum and the Brucknerhaus. It was the idea of a shared Europe that reached audience members’ ears, hearts and minds from the 2009 LINZFEST stage. Together with past and future Capitals of Culture, Linz staged a celebration of sounds, tastes, beats and games. Artists and young footballers convened for a multicultural urban extravaganza.
A culinary note debuted in 2009—top gourmet chefs from several different countries served up regional specialties. The three-day LINZFEST lineup featured about 200 artists, almost all of whom represented past or future Capitals of Culture.
