I LIKE TO MOVE IT MOVE IT – Invitation to Attend Rehearsals

This week, Volker Schmid (AT) and Valerie Klein (AT) are beginning to work with classes at AHS Solar City and the A. Stifter Praxis Linz. At the Akademisches Gymnasium and Hauptschule 12 Harbachschule, Antje Pfundtner (DE) and her partner Micha Lentner (DE). are getting their project moving. At several other schools, things have already been underway for several weeks. At HS St. Pantaleon and BRG Braunau, Hubert Lepka (AT) has been developing his “1,000 Hectares of Dance” project whose performances will be visible from the aircraft making their final approach to Salzburg. Alito Alessi (US), the originator of the Danceability method, is working which physically handicapped youngsters at the J.G. Herder Landesschule in Leonding as well as the Schule für Alle in Linz. Gerhard Willert (DE/AT), Uwe Lohr (AT) and students at the Gymnasium Aloisianum are staging a performance of “Der Weltuntergang” (The End of the World), a play based on nine scenes from works by Jura Soyfer, in the Alter Dom (Old Cathedral). At HS Andorf and MHS St. Martin, Paul Wenninger (AT) is developing a performance that entails transporting a giant polystyrene foam boat from Andorf to St. Martin. Nurkan Erpulat (TR/DE) is doing biographical work with secondary school students in Steyr and Weyer. Anna Maria Krassnigg (AT) is staging a reality show at Schloss Puchberg with students at BG/BRG Dr. Schauerstraße in Wels. The artists’ CVs are online at http://www.linz09.at/de/schulprojekt.html. The results of their efforts will be presented to the public from late April to mid-May.
Linz09 and the participating artists and schools cordially invite you to observe the process of bringing these very interesting projects to fruition and to cover the rehearsals. Enclosed is a list of all participating artists and schools.
