FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions about the Submission ProcessCan you submit just an idea?
Submissions should be objects, machines, films, workshops, performances, speeches, etc. that relate to the fair’s theme and already exist or are in an advanced state of development. Time constraints and organizational considerations make it impossible for us to implement vague ideas.
What happens with the submitted projects?
All submitted projects are immediately entered into the Subversive Fair databank. As soon as it’s clear that a submission complies with the thematic demands of the fair, it is released and posted on our website (menu item: Submissions). In July 2008, the RB will assess the submissions and select the 25 that will go on display at the Subversive Fair.
Which costs will be assumed by the Subversive Fair?
• Rent of the booth (about 15 m²) for the duration of the fair (4 days)
• Production of the booth (including furnishings, technology and decor)
• Transport of the exhibits (via air cargo, ship or truck)
• Setup and disassembly of the booth (including exhibits, furnishings, technology and decor)
• Production of print-outs/literature (if necessary)
• Travel to the fair via plane (from the rest of Europe or overseas) or via train (within Austria) by one exhibitor (submitter) and one associate per project
• Transportation costs from the airport/train station to the hotel and from the hotel to the fair venue
• Hotel accommodations (5 nights stay in a double room including breakfast)
• Six days per diem for each exhibitor and each associate
Can project proposals be submitted from outside of Austria or outside of Europe?
Yes. The origins of the project and/or its submitters/exhibitors are of absolutely no importance.
