Jury/Research Board
In going about the process of soliciting and selecting projects for the Subversive Fair, Social Impact will be supported by an international Research Board (RB). The RB is actively seeking interesting projects/works, and will make the final selection of the 25 projects that will be invited to be displayed at the Subversive Fair in Linz in the spring of 2009.The following individuals have been invited to serve as members of the RB:
Alejandra Aravena (committed): Chilean activist; has been the director of a free radio station since 2001. Radio Numero Critico’s programming is dedicated to social, political and cultural issues that are excluded from the public discourse—for instance, feminist social analysis, news about political prisoners, women’s rights and lesbian movements.
Natalia Pershina & Olga Egorova (committed): Russian artistic duo; they’ve been performing as Fabrika Nadyonii Odezhdii (Factory of Found Clothes) since 1995. They work with social critique, political performances, installations and videos, and are among the collaborators in the St. Petersburg artists’ collective Shto Delat (What to Do).
Gini Müller (committed): Viennese scholar of theater arts, performance artist, dramaturge, co-founder of the Volxtheaterkaravane; in 2003, she (together with Sabine Marte, Katrina Daschner and Christina Nemec) founded the feminist performance band SV Damenkraft.
Inke Arns (invited): German curator and author whose work focuses on media art, network culture and Eastern Europe; since 2005, she has been the artistic director of the Hartware Media/Art/Association in Dortmund.
Rena Tangens (invited): German co-founder of the Haecksen, a coalition of some of the female members of the Chaos Computer Club; she collaborated on the ZERBERUS mailbox program and the BIONIC mailbox, and is a co-organizer of the German BigBrotherAwards.
