Thomas Kerbl, conductor, pianist and director of the Department of Song and Voice at Anton Bruckner Private University Linz will be chatting with Peter Androsch, musical director of Linz 2009 European Capital of Culture. The two experts will discuss collaboration between Anton Bruckner Private University and Linz09, as well as the future and expansion of the Music Theater Studio. They’ll also go into the contribution Ensemble09 is making to the Capital of Culture year and its post-2009 prospects.
Thomas Kerbl’s artistic range is awesome! In addition to his extensive activities as a conductor of works ranging from Johann Sebastian Bach to “West Side Story,” he composed “Instant Anton,” paraphrases and quintessences of Anton Bruckner’s symphonies, for Linz09. In May 2009, Thomas Kerbl will conduct the world premiere of the oratorio “De Curro Igneo” by Till Alexander Körber, recipient of the Culture Prize of the Province of Upper Austria.
The conversation will take place during an artists’ breakfast at the KÉ café & bar in ARCOTEL Nike. Plus, selected excerpts from “Instant Anton” will be performed live by students at Anton Bruckner Private University.
