24times UNIQUE – The Theatrical Advent Calendar
(December 1-23, 2008, 7 PM daily)For grown-ups and youngsters age 14 and up!
By staging “24times UNIQUE – The Theatrical Advent Calendar,” Linz09 and the Theater des Kindes are offering audiences a sanctuary of tranquility amidst the pre-Christmas hustle and bustle, and an opportunity to enjoy an hour far from the maddening crowd.
One of the Theatrical Advent Calendar’s shuttered windows will be opened daily at 7 PM, December 1-23. Behind each one shutter is a surprise guest or group of guests. Their identity won’t be revealed until shortly before showtime! Local and international artists from many different fields including theater, music and literature will be giving their takes on the subject of Advent and the lead-up to Christmas, and presenting their work.
The final door will be opened on December 24 at 10 AM at an event designed for youngsters age 6 and up and their young-at-heart chaperones!
Admission is free of charge, though a voluntary donation to the City of Linz’s Mother-Child House would certainly be a nice expression of the Christmas spirit! The gift presentation is set for December 23 at 11 AM in the Mother-Child House located at Füchselstraße 21.
