Kunst Flow
Press Release
3 February 2009
„Wherever people work, that’s where art is at home.“
20 Upper Austrian companies are networking with 23 regional artists.
Kunst Flow, initiated by the Rotary Club chapters of Linz-Altstadt, Linz-Landhaus, Linz-Süd, Linz-Urfahr, Leonding, Traun, Gallneukirchen, Enns, Freistadt, Wels and Rohrbach, is an innovative project that’s linking up the private sector to the art world. 20 Upper Austrian companies are purchasing works of art, staging exhibitions and opening up their premises to art lovers.
Instead of sales figures and production statistics, it’ll be works of art at the center of attention in the lobbies, office suites and corridors of Upper Austria businesses. In addition to enhancing receptions designed to make a good impression of clients, business associates and staff, these exhibitions and installations are also being made available to the general public.
The 23 participating artists are exhibiting existing works as well as new, site-specific ones produced at and expressly for the firms where they’re on display. This offers artists the opportunity to confront the creative process beyond the conventional realm of museums and galleries, and to present the results to a wide-ranging audience.
A catalog will appear in early April 2009 that describes and documents this very special project, and provides information about the purchases, locations and opening hours of the exhibitions.
At the conclusion of the Kunst Flow project, all of the artists’ works will be on display in a joint exhibition in Artemons, the art museum for Upper Austrian painting in Hellmonsödt, running from September to November 2009.
