Artworks Return from Their Outing
Four works of art from the Lentos’ permanent collection have been out and about in Linz over the past few weeks. The paintings’ temporary accommodations have been in City Hall, the Zoo, and even a hair dresser’s salon. Now they’re heading back to the museum.
A “change of scenery” for about a month was what curators prescribed for the four paintings—one each by Lovis Corinth, Axl Leskoschek, Albin Egger-Lienz and Johanna Freise. They’ve been on display at publicly accessible spots beyond the friendly confines of the museum. On April 30th, the quartet will be fetched by members of Linz’s freundinnen der kunst artists’ collective and escorted back to the Lentos. At a gala homecoming event beginning at 7 PM, visitors can get the lowdown on the artworks’ excursion from its organizers. Change of Scenery is part of the Inquisitive Museum project being staged jointly by the Lentos Kunstmuseum Linz and Linz09.Change of Scenery – Homecoming Festivities
