StifterHaus: A family outing into the realm of literature
Copyright: Ned Horton / SXC
Writing and the written word are made the object of a hands-on experiment at the StifterHaus. “Entdeckungsreise Literatur” [Literature as a journey of discovery] is a programme attuned to families and invites grown-ups and little ’uns to take part in experiments, a fairy-tale hour and a journey through time.
Papyrus, slate, typewriter: How did it all begin? How did scripts and writing evolve? And what was the life of an Austrian writer like who lived all of 150 years ago? And what is it like when a present-day author tells or reads a fairy tale? And why not try your hand at producing your own slender volume?“Literature as a journey of discovery” enables families with children to gain exciting insights into the topics writing and reading. The whole house is going to come alive: there will be play acting, all kinds of creative activities, plenty to listen to and to experiment with. Or you can off on a journey through time into the distant past of Adalbert Stifter’s Biedermeier world.
