UmLinzRum: Relations with Linz
Copyright: Sebastian Vulcan
Participants in “UmLinzRum” writing workshops present literary impressions and their personal takes on the relationship between their respective hometown and Linz at readings of their work in StifterHaus. Next up are the Russian city of Nizhny Novgorod and Duisburg in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
What’s happening ‘round about Linz and what’s the connection with goings-on here? Such are the questions being explored by participants in German-language writing workshops being staged in conjunction with Linz09’s “UmLinzRum” project between 2006 and 2009 in seven selected partner cities. The center of attention in Nizhny Novgorod was the relationship between Adalbert Stifter and Maxim Gorki. In Duisburg, the focus was on football and migration. A selection of the texts produced in these two cities’ workshops will be presented by the authors on December 4, 2008 in StifterHaus. An expert panel discussion rounds out the evening. Musical intermezzi will be provided by the Adrian Gaspar Trio featuring vocalist Karima Brahimi.
