Museums of the Province of Upper Austria and Linz09 are Working Together
03.05.2007The Museums of the Province of Upper Austria are developing several projects in close cooperation with Linz09.
The Museums of the Province of Upper Austria—the Schlossmuseum, the Landesgalerie Linz and the Biology Center Linz/Dornach —are key partners of Linz09. Collaborative efforts involve an issue of essential importance to Linz09—National Socialism—as well as several other of these diversified museums’ fields of expertise and areas of interest.Four exhibitions currently in the works are joint efforts. “The Green Band” deals with natural areas and places of human habitation along the former Iron Curtain. “Cultural Life and National Socialism in Upper Austria” will already be opening in October 2008. It deals with the Gau Oberdonau (literally Upper Danube District), the Nazis’ name for the region around Linz. “Barlach / Kasper / Thorak / Wotruba” focuses on the work of four sculptors of that era. “Forum Design” was an ‘80s Linz design project that pointed the way to the future. It also ended up in a major lawsuit that “The Forum Design Case” will now take a retrospective look at.
