Linz Ahoy!
Cooperation with Linz09 is making good things happen: A hotel ship is anchored in Linz for the duration of the Crossing Europe Film Festival.
The 100-bed floating hotel sails under the Dutch flag. With its arrival in Linz, Crossing Europe can provide its young visitors from out-of-town with a cool new meet-and-greet venue as well as an interesting mode of accommodations, and thereby alleviate the notorious shortage of very affordable hotel rooms during festival week.Hotel guests also receive a couple of daily amenities: a newspaper and a Linz09-Linzerauge, a cookie-like pasty for which the city is famous. And the hotel ship, in turn, has gotten a great reception too, according to Manager Rainer von Kürten. Its facilities include settings that are ideal for socializing and discussions: festival guests, filmmakers and journalists get together early in the morning over breakfast or late in the evening on deck.
