Hearing and Music at Linz09
12.04.2007The essential aspects of Linz09’s musical concept as well as the projects that are already in development were recently presented to the public. Peter Androsch, the man in charge of this area, is taking the individual and social significance of hearing as his starting point.
Hearing and the manifold aspects of acoustic space are at the core of the concept that composer Peter Androsch has come up with for Linz09’s music program. Furthermore, a series of concrete projects are already in the works. These include a “Parade of Walking Music” that’s being designed by Keith Goddard and Peter Kuthan, a music theater work entitled “Montezuma – Falling Eagle” that Bernhard Lang has been commissioned to compose and an opera that Franz Hummel has been commissioned to compose about Joseph Fouché, who lived in Linz from 1818 to 1820. “Instant Anton” is the title of a project that will produce abridged versions of all Bruckner symphonies for the Capital of Culture year. Linz09 will also be conducting a wide variety of projects in cooperation with institutions and facilities that are part of the Linz music scene.
