The director of the Crossing Europe Film Festival received a prize recognizing excellence in cinematic art.
At the awards ceremony of the Diagonale Film Festival in Graz, Christine Dollhofer, director of the Crossing Europe Film Festival, was honored with the Film Prize given annually by the Republic of Austria's Ministry of Education, Art and Culture.Since 1990, Dollhofer has rendered outstanding service to Austrian filmmaking and, especially in recent years, to European film culture. The native of Upper Austria was one of the co-founders of the Womens’ Film Initiative in 1990. From 1992 to 1996, she managed the Filmcasino, a cinematic art house in Vienna. In 1997, Christine Dollhofer and Constantin Wulff took over as artistic director / business manager of the Diagonale – Festival of Austrian Film. In 2004, she conceptualized the first Crossing Europe Film Festival in Linz.
The 2007 festival kicks off April 24. This is the first year it will be staged in cooperation with Linz09.
