The Impossible Solo

Five choreographers and performers got together at the start of 2009 to jointly develop a solo for each and a piece for the entire group in parallel fashion. A co-production association named OIsNotAcCompany was formed expressly for this collaboration.
Veronika Zott is from Austria, Ivo Dimchev from Bulgaria/The Netherlands, Robert Hayden from the US/Belgium, Mala Kline from Slovenia and Antje Pfundtner from Germany. Under the leadership of artistic director Guido Reimitz, they’ve examined the relations of production in contemporary dance and sought ways in which they can be expanded. Thus, in the mode of creative production that OIsNotAcCompany has come up with, a solo—usually a lonely undertaking—can take shape in a group process just like a choreography for all five performers. The solos as well as the ensemble piece entitled “Be Betwixt” will premiere between September 22nd and 29th in Hafenhalle09.Impossibility of a Solo
