“Circus” Picks Up Stakes and Moves On!

Calling all fans of big-top entertainment in Upper Austria’s Salzkammergut lake district! “Circus” is coming to Gmunden where, from July 25 to August 6, there’ll be performances of five popular programs—a feast for the eyes and ears!
“Instant Anton” is the title of an evening dedicated entirely to Anton Bruckner, though this turns out to be quite a radical homage featuring re-compositions of his symphonies. “Revue” is for those who like it hopped-up, off-beat and way-out. Circus Hieronymus is staging four revue evenings starring a rotating lineup of artists from Austria, France, the USA, Germany, Switzerland and Portugal. The light & airy, fantastic world of cartoons is the theme of an audiovisual extravaganza entitled “Comix”; the percussion virtuosos of Supercussion Vienna present famous cartoon melodies. The subtitle of “Magie” tells it all: in “East of the Sun & West of the Moon,” composer Renald Deppe takes us on a musical tour of the land of the rising sun. And finally “Circus” gets futuristic in “Zukunftsmusik” featuring an evening full of auditory adventures with works commissioned especially for this show.“Circus” in Gmunden
