Is Linz a happy city? Or one that got lucky? In any case, the city has changed tremendously over the last 30 years. The “City in Luck” exhibition sheds light on Linz’s identity - yesterday and today.

What recollections does this city evoke when one thinks back over the last few decades? What has left a particularly strong impression on the collective memory in Linz? “Change” is the key concept here. From a dirty industrial town to Austria's most environmentally friendly city - a title Linz has borne with pride since 2006 - and high-tech urban center; from a purportedly provincial municipality to Europe’s Capital of Culture. Above all, Linz shows signs of having undergone a drastic image makeover. The “Linz. City in Luck” exhibition in the Nordico Museum translates the most important milestones of this transformation process into the form of an apartment: steel-town kids dueling in their room; clean industry getting all decked out in the bath; and the Capital of Culture dishing out its narratives in the kitchen. You’re cordially invited to stop in for a visit beginning June 5.
