“Höhenrausch–High-Altitude Euphoria” will be taking art lovers on an excursion above the Linz cityscape beginning May 29. From rooftop to rooftop via stairs and bridges, this lofty art parcours will feature an array of installations and objects by international artists.
“Höhenrausch” is the third installment of the OK Offenes Kulturhaus Oberösterreich’s exhibition trilogy entitled “Art in the City!!” Things got underway in 2007 with “Schaurausch–Viewing Spree” featuring art in display windows of downtown shops. Next up in 2008 was “Tiefenrausch–Rapture of the Deep” set in Linz’s many cellars, tunnels and caves. Now, it’s time for the culminating ascent. Visitors will set out on a round-trip tour that alternates between interior and exterior spaces. The itinerary’s main stops are the OK, the roof of the City Parking Deck, the Passage City Center mall and the Ursulinenhof cultural facility. High above street level, exhibition visitors are in for some heavenly thrills including a giant Ferris wheel and top-notch installations by European and Asian artists.Höhenrausch– Art on the Rooftops of Linz
