Das Schiff: Come on Board for Imaginative Theater
The Schäxpir international theater festival presents fantastic, touching and exciting maritime adventures on stage aboard the MS Schönbrunn. All plots were penned by Linz school kids.
Linz09 and Schäxpir have jointly converted the historical Danube steamship MS Schönbrunn into a floating stage. From March 25 to April 4 as a lead-in to the festival, drama fans are invited to embark on a fascinating theatrical journey.More than 100 pupils at Linz schools took pencil and paper in hand and wrote stories about nautical adventures. Swiss theater group Sgaramusch and the Norwegian ensemble NIE have taken a bunch of these narratives and worked them up into a play for theatergoers age 7 and up.
This performance promises to be a memorable experience for the whole family. From the cabins to the engine room, the entire ship will serve as spectator viewing area and stage. Ship ahoy!
