The Istanbul Oriental Ensemble in Hafenhalle09
Burhan Öçal is a major star in Turkey. The percussionist, composer and singer will be making a guest appearance at Hafenhalle09 on March 21 at the invitation of Extra Europa.
Burhan Öçal has been a mainstay of the Turkish music scene for decades. He’s made his mark in many different genres: Pop, Techno and Classical, as well as in Romany and Sufi music. Öçal is best known in Central Europe for his Istanbul Oriental Ensemble. Traditional instrumental and vocal pieces meet up with improvisations and styles with Occidental roots.Saturday, March 21, 2009, 8 PM
