Here’s a great way to get into the right mood for the Capital of Culture launch: a diversified array of musical entertainment downtown!

On Hauptplatz and Alter Markt, the accent will be on Linz09 beginning at 9 PM. Getting things started on Hauptplatz will be Binder&Krieglstein; Louie Austen takes over at 10. The lineup on Alter Markt includes Selbstlaut, Fozhowi and Texta (9 PM, 9:45 and 10:30 respectively). Austrian music at its best!
At the 11:15, the watchwords are “Head for the bridge!” to get the best possible vantage point during the fireworks extravaganza and the Rocket Symphony. Karl M. Sibelius will be hosting the countdown during the half-hour before midnight, which will include live feeds from the official opening ceremony in the Brucknerhaus.
