As part of Linz09’s collaboration with the ÖBB – Austrian Federal Railways, one of the line’s sleek new ICE trains has been named “Linz.”
The futuristically-designed InterCityExpress bearing the name of Europe’s upcoming Capital of Culture runs between Frankfurt and Vienna. On October 22, representatives of the City of Linz, Linz09 and the national rail systems of Austria and Germany christened the “Linz,” the ICE train adorned with the Linz09 logo.As official carrier of Linz09, the ÖBB is making some interesting offers available to Capital of Culture visitors. Holders of a Linz09 Card are entitled to a 25% discount on trips to Linz from within Austria, and the discount goes up to a whopping 60% when the Linz09 cardholder also has a regular ÖBB Vorteilscard.
