A stunning interplay between voices and fireworks is to ring in Capital of Culture Year in Linz on New Year’s Eve. There are still vacancies for choirs and singers.
500 voices from Linz and its surrounding districts will hold a dialogue with the traditional New Year’s Eve fireworks and so pay homage to the city of Linz, as it starts its year as European Capital of Culture 2009. The singers will get additional support from renowned London choir “The Shout”.This highly unusual event will startle the audience with rockets as musical instruments and voices as fireworks. Under the direction of Tom Ryser and Orlando Gough Linz will be transformed into an ocean of sound and light.
For this unique spectacle Linz09 and Chorverband OÖ are looking for choirs and singers (up to 800 in all). Travel and food expenses will be borne by Linz09. The choirs and singers (and their partners/families) are also cordially invited by Linz09 to the New Year’s Eve party.
