The showdown between Europe’s 2009 Co-Capitals of Culture is kicking off in the true sense of the word. The football World Championship qualification match pitting Austria against Lithuania will launch the “Linz vs. Vilnius” project.
In what might be described as a “Dancing Stars of Culture” series, Messrs. Juhann and Jod are inviting experts from Linz and Vilnius to five themed evening get-togethers to determine once and for all Europe’s true urban cultural superstar of 2009.To establish the mood even before the big showdown commences, Juhann and Jodwill be appearing live in Linz’s Grand Cafezum Rothen Krebsen on September 10 to deliver their unique brand of color commentary during the telecast of the Austria vs. Lithuania World Championship qualification match.
In contrast to the regular-season face-offs to determine the real 2009 Capital of Culture, this time it’ll be a soccer ball and not the audience that decides who’s the victor and who’s the vanquished. Admission is free of charge.
