Music from all directions, a sound spectrum ranging from opulent tones to deafening silence, will make up this year's festival4020 lineup.
In 2009, festival4020 [more than music] will be a featured event on the Capital of Culture year program. And this year's production entitled MINIMAL::MAXIMAL also has great things in store for fans of musical art. This leitmotiv is conceived as an arc spanned between two realms at the outermost edges of contemporary music: intense condensation and unbridled creative chaos.festival4020 will feature four thematic skeins running through four days (May 7-10): “In Extremis,” “Aus dem Nichts” (From Out of Nothing), “Mikrokosmos” and “Makrokosmos.” The venues hosting these highly expressive offerings are the Brucknerhaus, the Posthof, the Lentos Museum of Art and the Linz Synagogue. These productions are designed to get audiences geared up for the lead-in to the Capital of Culture year.
