Restaurateurs and hoteliers are already gearing up for the big capital of culture year: 47 hospitality industry facilities in the Linz metro area have gotten together to form a tourism organization named “hotspots.”

Innkeepers and restaurant proprietors are shouldering big responsibilities for the success of Linz09. After all, they’re fully aware that visitors’ experiences with hospitality service providers play a major role when tourists rate their overall satisfaction with a particular destination. That’s why hotspots member firms are keen to present themselves as cordial hosts who cultivate a distinctive regional identity while offering world-class dining and accommodations.
In going about this, they’re placing particular emphasis on the qualifications of their staff members, who are encouraged to take advantage of the 49 continuing professional education courses offered by Austria's federal employment office—for instance, culinary workshops, language courses and training sessions designed to foster personal qualities like graciousness and self-confidence.
The hotspots group will be spotlighting the Capital of Culture at regional, national and international events culminating in the CULINARYartFESTIVAL09 that will feature a wide array of delicacies, a fancy ball and the world’s longest breakfast table.
