How far along are the Capital of Culture year preparations in Linz? A delegation from Vilnius recently stopped by to see for themselves.
Vilnius’s representatives paid a call March 5-6. This capital of culture fact-finding tour by members of the Lithuanian parliament included stops at Linz09 headquarters, city hall and province government offices. In addition to substantive discussions of cultural policymaking issues, Stella Rollig, Peter Assmann and Martin Sturm accompanied our guests to the Lentos, the Landesgalerie and the OK Offenes Kulturhaus. The talks centered on infrastructural investments by the City of Linz and the Province of Upper Austria, as well as joint projects Vilnius and Linz will be staging during the Capital of Culture year.
