“Show Me Respect!”
03.03.2008Linz is the setting for the “City of Respect” project presently being staged by Kunstraum Goethestrasse xtd.
Six very striking portraits by photographer Barbara Landgraf are currently on display all around town. The subjects—people of different ages, genders and ethnic origins—exude self-assurance through the directness of their attitudes and facial expressions. They seem to demand of the viewer: “Show Me Respect!” The Kunstraum Goethestrasse art space is thus pursuing a vision of a “City of Respect” that goes beyond providing its inhabitants with a secure existence and grants them the possibility of determining their own individual way of life and lifestyle. Barbara Landgraf’s photographs provide the eye-catching images on a poster and postcard campaign currently running citywide. Kunstraum Goethestrasse is planning additional actions and interventions throughout 2008 in this “City of Respect” series.www.kunstraum.at
