Commissioning architectural critics to evaluate urban planning processes and development plans is quite a novel procedure in Austria, though this has been successfully practiced for decades in other countries such as The Netherlands. In February 2008, just such an architectural criticism project will be launched in Linz. “Linz Status Quo” is inviting three European architectural critics to take a close-up look at the quality of urban planning and construction in this city.
