"UmLinzRum" in Sibiu

"UmLinzRum", a project for Linz09, enables creative writing workshops in an assorted mix of cultural capitals and Linz’s twin cities. This time round it’s the turn of Romania’s Sibiu.
What does Linz have in common with its twin cities? Are there threads that connect other cultural capitals with Linz? These are questions that will be dealt with in the creative writing workshops of "UmLinzRum". Under the guidance of writers from the respective countries non-professionals with a bent for literature get a chance of putting their talent for writing in German to the test. In 2006 a workshop in Bohemia’s České Budějovice already yielded a wide range of results. A workshop scheduled for 27th–31st October will be held in Sibiu, one of the cultural capitals of 2007. And the texts that emerge from it will drop in on Linz: on 11th December a group of participants will report on the experience and present their results.
