"Sauber Linz!" started
Cleanliness and safety are key policymaking issues in the City of Linz. The “Sauber Linz!” (Clean Linz) workshop series will provide a framework for discussions of these topics from somewhat novel perspectives.
www.linz09.at/sauberlinzOver the last 30 years, Linz has made an effort to counteract its image as a rather grimy industrial town. During this period, the city’s appearance has played a central role in the urban policymaking discourse. Changes to the cityscape over this time and the ongoing process of neighbourhood development have continually been subject to economic motivations; however, in addition to these forces, cityscape planning in Linz also entails additional mechanisms, which “Sauber Linz!” will now disclose and elaborate on. At the invitation of Linz09, this workshop series is being conducted by basurama, a Spanish architectural group that, since its founding in 2001, has been dealing with the subject of garbage and pursuing a positive interpretation of the concept.
